UK Based PVD Specialist Teer Coatings Ltd Wins Tender to Supply PVD Coating Systems to the United States Mint

The announcement comes after the Unites States (Mint) competitively tendered to replace their current 4 off Teer UDP 650 deposition systems with up to 6 off new PVD coating units.

Bidding was completed through a competitive tender process, involving a 2-phase trial to compare and test coating performance from leading PVD suppliers.

Teer Coatings Ltd offered the Mint the latest generation of PVD coating system, the CF-800-4. This has been specifically customised for numismatic and proof coin operations and includes PlasMag™ Plus Magnetrons, enhanced ion cleaning, the latest generation HMI controls and a tailored die-jigging design.
At 228 years old the United States Mint has a rich history, including manufacturing locations in Philadelphia, San Francisco, West Point and Denver.
