For the last 9 years Teer Coatings Limited has been owned by High Tech Coatings, which is part of Miba Coating Group, Miba AG whose primary focus is in the automotive sector.

Miba bought Teer Coatings as part of a strategic plan to increase their share of the PVD market within this automotive sector. As part of a periodic review of the Coating Group it has been decided that Teer Coatings no longer fits their long-term view of this sector.

As of 15th January 2019, Teer Coatings has undertaken a management buyout (MBO) – the new company owners are Mr Wayne Southall, Mrs Angela Byrne and Dr Hailin Sun who come from the current senior management team of Teer Coatings. They have a combined experience of over 70 years working at Teers between them in the various departments.

“The MBO is an exciting new era for us – particularly as we have grown rapidly within the last few years,” Wayne Southall said. “We’re not planning on significant changes within the business as the last few years have shown us the areas of the industry in which Teer Coatings can play to its strengths with our unique and bespoke coatings, our commitment to customer service will continue to be at the heart of our thinking for the future”.
