The announcement comes after the Unites States (Mint) competitively tendered to replace their current 4 off Teer UDP 650 deposition systems with up to 6 off new PVD coating units.

Bidding was completed through a competitive tender process, involving a 2-phase trial to compare and test coating performance from leading PVD suppliers.

Teer Coatings Ltd offered the Mint the latest generation of PVD coating system, the CF-800-4. This has been specifically customised for numismatic and proof coin operations and includes PlasMag™ Plus Magnetrons, enhanced ion cleaning, the latest generation HMI controls and a tailored die-jigging design.
At 228 years old the United States Mint has a rich history, including manufacturing locations in Philadelphia, San Francisco, West Point and Denver. Teer Coatings has had contracts with the United States Mint for over 10 years related to its mission to produce quality coinage that stands the test of time.

Background – Teer Coatings Ltd are a specialist Physical Vapour Deposition (PVD) coating company

A recent business review has identified the need for a new energy efficient LED lighting system to reduce energy consumption and cost.

Opportunity – The company currently operate a lighting system comprising of fluorescent tubes. We are looking to replace the inefficient lighting with a new LED lighting system incorporating motion and daylight sensor controls.

Proposals to include prices for supply, installation and commissioning. Proposals must also include the specification of the LED lamps and sensor controls to be installed.

Capability – Suppliers are invited to provide the most cost effective and energy efficient solution. Examples of similar installations undertaken in the past three years to demonstrate capability to design, install and commission this project.

Selection Criteria – The contract will be awarded to the most cost-effective tender that meets the requirements of the company and can be delivered within the planned timescales.

Payment Terms – Payment will be made in stages and agreed as part of the contract discussions. Anticipated payment terms to be included in the prospective supplier’s quotation.

Cost – To be stipulated in the prospective supplier’s quotation

• Completed tenders to be received by the companies Project Manager via email no later than 12:00 noon on the 18th September 2020.
• Project installation timescale will need to be completed within 4 weeks.
