Teer Coatings Ltd, is an SME formed in 1985 employing over 50 staff. Approximately one third of the Company’s resources are devoted to R&D, one third to the provision of an ISO9001 certified production coatings service and one third to the ISO9001 certified design, development and supply of advanced coating deposition and related test equipment.

History

1982

Founded as a consultancy service

1985

Established as Teer Coatings Ltd in Hartlebury, Worcestershire, to provide coating services and PVD equipment design and manufacture

1986

UDP coating system designed

1987

Closed field system developed

Optical emission system for control of deposition of reactive coatings developed

1989

First large production equipment sale

1992

Move to larger premises in Hartlebury

1994

UK Patent awarded for the CFUBMSIP system

1996

US patent awarded for the CFUBMSIP system

1997

MoST coating patent awarded

1998

Increased coating production capacity by 100%

1999

Graphit-iC coating patent awarded
Addition of second building in Hartlebury

2001

Addition of third building in Hartlebury

2002

Award of ISO:9001:2000 for production coatings

2003

Award of ISO 9001:2000 for system building
Dymon-iC coating patent awarded
Hard multilayer coatings patent awarded

Moved to larger premises, West Stone House, in Droitwich, Worcestershire

Teer Coatings Ltd celebrates 25 years

Miba Group buys minority shareholding in Teer Coatings Ltd

Miba Group takes full ownership of Teer Coatings Ltd

Teer Coatings Ltd celebrates 30 years

Teer Coatings Ltd takes full ownership of the business from the Miba Group in a management buy out
